A Bit About Me
If you find yourself at a crossroads after a significant personal life change, grappling with the aftermath of a breakup, navigating a career shift, processing a change in family dynamic, adjusting to new life circumstances, or embarking on the exciting yet challenging journey of going off to college, you're not alone. Change can be overwhelming, and the transition process may feel daunting. If you're seeking compassionate support and someone who can guide you through these transitions while holding you accountable, you've come to the right place.
I specialize in working with teens and adults of all ages – Individuals who are not only open to change but actively invested in personal growth. If you're struggling with anxiety or navigating a life transition, and you're committed to becoming more compassionate with yourself, I'm here to help.
I am a person-centered therapist who approaches my clients with their values in mind. I present change as a series of small, digestible steps, allowing you to feel more empowered and in control of the process. Together, we'll define your most salient values, explore your options, challenge feelings of avoidance, brainstorm coping skills for anxiety, and create a judgment-free space where you can openly express your concerns. Holding you accountable throughout the journey, my aim is to help you be kinder to yourself and guide you in aligning your actions with your values. As a clinician, I trust that you are the expert of your life and strive to create space for a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, honesty, and compassion.
Through our work together, you'll learn to navigate change at a pace that is realistic for you and leads to success. Whether you're looking to overcome anxiety or seeking support during a significant life transition, or simply need a safe space to be vulnerable and process change, I am dedicated to meeting you halfway and helping you meet your needs.
Experience:
Holly is a graduate student clinician in her second year of a counseling psychology masters’ program at the University of Denver. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Colorado in Boulder which she earned while working as a teaching fellow for middle-school aged students. Following her graduation in 2020, Holly worked as a Behavior Technician providing care for children with autism. During her first year at the University of Denver, Holly completed an internship as a school counselor working with children and adolescents struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, learning disabilities and family issues.
More than just my work:
I love my alone time, whether that is working on the pottery wheel, reading, or taking walks (with my dog), I find joy in reconnecting with myself and doing anything creative. My favorite poem is Courage by Anne Sexton.
