A Bit About Me
Sometimes we experience judgment and feeling isolated and ashamed due to our identity or past experiences and the ways we have learned to cope. We might use substances to numb from emotional pain and once able to stop or change our use, we are left wondering what to do with the feelings that remain. Or once we have set boundaries with an unhealthy or abusive partner or family member we have difficulty processing all that happened in that relationship and how it escalated to the point that it did. Or even having experienced a traumatic event our worldview completely changes and leaves us wondering if things will ever feel like they did before.
I offer counseling services to support clients in overcoming these challenges in a warm and welcoming environment. I assist clients by talking things through, offering new perspectives, and practicing practical skills that encourage them to have a better understanding of themselves so that they can live a life more aligned with their values. I am committed to helping you let go of shame and fear of judgment from others so that you can feel empowerment and more at peace.
Experience:
June is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. She also completed EMDR basic training at EMDR Center of the Rockies. Over the past seven years, she has worked at Safe House Denver and Denver Health Hospital supporting clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
More than just my work:
My favorite ways to unwind are spending quality time with good friends, practicing yoga, playing the piano, and snuggling my maltipoo, Pearl.
