A Bit About Me
Life's challenges can often feel overwhelming. Whether it's facing a major life transition, grappling with uncertainty about making changes, or being overwhelmed by your emotions, it can be challenging to navigate these situations alone and find a starting point. It may begin to feel like being caught in a never-ending cycle.
By adopting a holistic and integrative framework, I ensure that the treatment I offer is tailored to meet the unique needs and individuality of each client. I deeply understand that every individual brings their own rich life experiences to therapy, and together, we will actively participate in a treatment approach that is impactful.
There is seldom a one-size-fits-all solution, so I strive to create a collaborative alliance with clients, acknowledging and respecting their unique treatment needs and preferences. I place a strong emphasis on creating a genuine therapeutic bond and safe environment that empowers clients to make progress in their pursuit of personal growth and goal achievement.
Experience:
Gabriela is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver. At the University of Minnesota, she worked at The Autism Spectrum and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ASD) Clinic helping Autistic teens transition into adulthood. Before enrolling in graduate school, she gained valuable experience at an Allina Health hospital in a mental and behavioral health unit. In that role, she provided support to patients dealing with depression, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. Her most recent professional experience was at Pathfinders Recovery Center, where she worked in residential and intensive outpatient settings, helping individuals on their journey to overcome alcohol and drug addictions.
More than just my work:
Having grown up in Minnesota, my love for being near the water runs deep. Whenever I get the chance to take a serene walk around the lake, it's as if my inner being finds its ultimate state of peace and contentment.
