A Bit About Me
Imagine if you had the confidence to show up as your authentic self. Or if your teenage daughter could overcome insecurity to be the person she genuinely wants to be. As women, we have been taught to stifle our confidence, take up less space, and conform to the values and behaviors of those around us. This often leads us to losing our sense of self. You deserve to feel confident in your identity and show up to the world as the person you want to be.
Sometimes when we aren’t able to come as we are, we lose the courage to go out and reach our goals. We know we are capable of success, but we realize there are barriers to reaching this for ourselves. We might start losing trust in ourselves and feeling like we’re isolated in how we approach the world. Whether we overthink our experiences, we try to please everyone around us, or we’re afraid of the possible success awaiting us. We want to find ways to lead a more authentic and fulfilling life, but we’re not entirely sure how to get there.
Finding a therapist you truly connect with can be hard. It can be overwhelming searching through hundreds of profiles to try and find someone you think is going to be the right fit and understand you. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the first step toward healing. As we build this relationship, we will also work collaboratively to set goals for therapy and identify what steps feel important in achieving those goals. I strive to create a warm, compassionate, sometimes humorous, and overall empowering space for you to be able to work through your struggles while celebrating your successes.
Experience:
Anahita is a Licensed Psychologist, with a Doctorate of Psychology degree in School Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver. She worked in schools for a few years, before making the switch to private practice where she feels like she can make a more significant and lasting impact in her clients’ lives. She has worked in various settings such as youth homeless shelters, schools, home, and residential treatment facilities. She has also worked with many diverse populations including children, teens, and adults struggling with a range of mental health, developmental, and intellectual disabilities.
More than just my work:
My favorite quote: “The world is so fast that there are days when the person who says it can’t be done is interrupted by the person who is doing it”
I am a Colorado native who loves the outdoors - camping, hiking, snowboarding - as long as I can be outside, I’m happy. I have two young kids who have completely changed my world in so many positive ways. I am a goal-oriented person who is always working toward bettering myself and those around me.
