A Bit About Me
Some children don't experience consistency, emotional validation, or a sense of belonging at home. As a result, they may struggle to trust others, express their emotions, or feel confident in who they are.
I strive to create a warm, playful, and nurturing environment where children feel welcomed, emotionally safe, and genuinely valued. By meeting each child with unconditional positive regard and tailoring therapy to their unique strengths and needs, I help them build trust at their own pace.
My clients develop confidence in themselves, feel empowered to express their emotions, and experience the security of knowing they are accepted, supported, and capable of growth.
Experience:
Mia is a Licensed Social Worker who is passionate about the well-being of children. She believes every child deserves to feel welcomed, safe, and seen, and strives to create a positive environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. Mia values the importance of building trusting relationships and enjoys helping children discover their strengths, navigate challenges, and grow with confidence.
Mia earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver. During graduate school, she completed her field practicum in the Cherry Creek School District, where she worked with children in kindergarten through third grade in the Behavior Development Program at Mission Viejo Elementary School.
She has also volunteered with children and families through Warren Village, Children's Hospital Colorado, Urban Peak Youth Shelter, and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). These experiences have strengthened her passion for working with children and continue to shape her compassionate, child-centered approach to therapy.
More than just my work:
A child may forget what you taught them, but they will never forget how safe, loved, and seen you made them feel.” — adaptation of Carl W. Buehner
